Baby Shower

We had fun celebrating Baby Burchette over a Sunday Brunch at Tamara's house. It was great having all us girls together again and Tamara created a really fun Q & A game about Drew and I and our thoughts of baby/parenting. Thanks Drew for being such a good sport! Glad to know that we are both in aggreement about "Morpheus" not being the babies name.

36 weeks!

Well, here I am at 36 weeks heading to my Baby Shower. Not too much to report...my belly is continuing to grow taking on a nice basket ball appearance. With a month to the due date, my nesting instincts have kicked in..look out junk drawer, here I come!

Fun on Sauvies

On our last Sauvies Island kiting outing, we had fun with our niece and nephews as they flew the trainer kite for the first time. The cool air and shortening daylight were evidence of Falls grace upon us as we roasted our corn and hotdogs on the beach for probably the last time this season.
Eva and Nadya enjoying the beach while the guys kite their little hearts out!

33 Weeks!

Well...we are growing steadily at just over 8 months now. This guy is very active as he grows. We've completed our Birth Class and Hospital Tour and with 7 weeks to the due date, I'm now working on my mental preperation. I'm still feeling good with only minor discomforts of restless nights.

California Trip

On August 8th we drove down to the Bay Area for a fun family packed adventure. We had a nice visit with Uncle Mike and Rene. Their infamous french toast breakfast was delicious! Then we headed over to Walnut Creek for an Elze Clan gathering at Olaf and Jody's place. Lot's of catching up with family over delicous meals, relaxing in the sun and pool time play!
Here we have the next generation of Elze's as three sets of cousins gather.
Drew and I then headed towards the coast to Mendicino where we met up with Matt and Laura and were treated to two nights in a lovely B&B. Here we are taking a nice hike off the Pygmy Forest Trail.
The Burchette Brothers looking coastal for any possible wave action..alas no surfing on this particular weekend.
So all in all our six day adventure was good times all around. The 13 1/2 hour car ride home however was a bit much, especially with the hot afternoon sun and the I5 closure/delay due to some grass fires. We look forward to making this family gathering an annual event!

Our latest exam and ultrasound show baby to be doing well and growing normally weighing in at an estimated 2.7 lbs with us right on schedule for our October 11th due date.

Summertime Fun

4th of July Celebrations!
We joined the Stockman's for a candid moment at the
3rd Annual Bieger BBQ Blow-Stuff-Up event.

Drew and I sharing a moment.

Many an evening at Sauvies Island - Drew's new playground.

The garden is finally starting to mature with all the long awaited sunshine.

We've really been enjoying the balance between work and play this summer with lot's of trips to Sauvies Island, vegetable and flower gardening, enjoying many a delicous meal on the front patio and with good friends, evening neighborhood walks and of course Ice Cream! Ahhh..Summer!
